hellohellohello!!
well, last night we held our first annual djangokill showcase at dragonfly theater. and it was splendid! cj boyd stunned an audience of first-timers and loyal fans. naked gods drifted out of a 10-minute, psyched-out jam into a tight set of head-E classics (don't miss them tomorrow night, 29 april, at boone saloon). and red snapper finished out the night by wowing the late-night crowd with ramshackled ruminations on love and birds, even throwing out a new jam to end the night.
thanks to everyone who came out and celebrated with us. and many, many thanks to the bands for their endless devotion. we love you all. django says that he had a lovely time at our family picnic.
ALSO, while naked gods were in boston, enjoying the absolute highlight of their most recent jaunt up north, they recorded a short session with andy & jen at the flophouse. these guys were some of the sweetest, most hospitable folks we've ever encountered and what they're doing up there is extremely encouraging. in a day where it seems too often that people just don't care about much at all, andy & jen offer a bright glimpse of hope, especially for those involved in or have a great love for music. the session is available here. spend some time on their site and see what they've done for the music community at large.

happy spring everyone! tis a happy one indeed, as we've recently recieved our 2nd release, deep in the outside by the cj boyd sexxxtet. it's a triad of songs "recorded live and nude on WRVU 91.1 FM Nashville, september 7th, 2008." hypnotic, sensual, captivating, provocative.
you can catch cj on tour with the sexxxtet over the coming weeks and solo'a'plenty after that. he'll be playing a djangokill showcase in boone,nc on 27 april with red snapper, dual at dawn and naked gods (doing something a little different) at the dragonfly theater.

happy 2k9 to all !! well, here it is early february and, alas, the naked gods LP has yet to appear... fear not fellow music lover, the wheels are turning and it will be here shortly. we are but a young bunch and the mechanizations of all things "label" are slowly coming to us. BUT, on to the news:
we'd like to welcome our friend cj boyd to the djangokill family. we've known cj for some years now and are very excited and honored to be releasing some of his beautiful sounds.

things have been going pretty smoothly since we last posted. naked gods were spotlit on wncw's local color show and have recently been added to the playlist at duke university's wxdu.
we'll be releasing welcome home on VINYL sometime in early/mid-january (with some BONUS material!!) AND djangokill's second release, the as-yet-to-be-titled album by dual at dawn, should be arriving in time for spring.

we're here! and here is the INTERWEB!! we're also celebrating our very first release: welcome home BY naked gods. the album release party on 11/15 at the boone saloon was a blast! thanks for everyone who came out and got down, especially those who waited outside in the snow. if you didn't pick up a cd that night, it is now available for purchase through our web-site and at local (boone) retailers: green eggs & jam, espresso news and fat cats.
